Captain Tom Petersen has been navigating everything from Canoes to Sailboats to 85 ft Commercial charter boats since he was a child. Although he loves traditional fishing in California and Mexico, he is found more often fishing underwater while Scuba diving! He is the Commodore of the Channel Islands Sea Ray Club and is an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He has been active in numerous Yacht Clubs over his 30+ years of boating. As a commercial Captain he holds a 100 Ton Masters license. He is also an active PADI Master Instructor for over 25 years.

Captain Tom is the owner and operator of Valkyrie Yachts, a yacht service and consulting company in Southern California. Captain Tom is currently bringing Sea Tow to the Ventura and Santa Barbara, a service that is needed more than ever! Captain Tom also instructs numerous Raymarine training programs in Southern California showing new, and experienced boaters, the value and in-depth uses of the full Raymarine line-up of electronics. He is also a regular at numerous boat shows including the numerous Southern California shows as well as the Ft Lauderdale and Miami Boat shows. He is preparing for a 2,000 mile power boat trip down to Mexico and back this Fall and says he would not do it without Raymarine electronics on board the Valkyrie.
