No LORAN signals? No Problem!

As you’ve probably heard, the U.S. Coast Guard shut down the majority of the nation’s LORAN transmission towers on February 8. By October 1, the few remaining U.S. and Canadian operating stations will be shut down for good.
This is a pretty big milestone for our industry. First developed for military ships and planes during World War II, the predecessor to LORAN-C, LORAN-A system was the de facto method of navigation until 1957 when the LORAN- C system was put in service.

Raymarine Pros Take Top Honors at Sailfish Kickoff!

Raymarine’s Pro Ambassadors dominated the 2009 Sailfish Kickoff, held last weekend in Miami. Team American, skippered by Ray Rosher, took top honors with a two-day total of 22 releases. Ray also was awarded a prize for Top Captain and members of his crew took home prizes for Top Angler and Top Female Angler, as well.
